A letter from the Executive Director

Dear Friend:

I love being a dad.  I love it when I arrive home from work and my kids race down the front sidewalk to see who can be the first to tell me about their day.  I enjoy lying with my kids at night and making them giggle as I tell them made-up bedtime stories.  I take great pleasure in being present with them as they make new discoveries about the world around them. 

And yet while I am constantly reminded of how much my children need me, I am also keenly aware of just how much I need them.  I need them to give me perspective about what is really important in life.  I need their love.  I need them so that I can become a more loving, giving, patient, and positive person.  In short, fatherhood has given me some of the greatest challenges – and the greatest opportunities – I have ever faced. 

Our desire at the Central Texas Fatherhood Initiative (CTFI) is to not only inspire men to make the most of their opportunities as fathers, but also to work with every sector of our society in order to stimulate a renewal of fatherhood in and beyond Central Texas.  Your generous financial contributions enable CTFI to be innovative leaders in the fatherhood movement, helping fathers to triumph over obstacles that prevent them from being the best fathers they can be, and producing inspiring stories of transformation in the lives of fathers and children alike. 

I commend you for wanting to promote responsible fatherhood within your community.
