Mentoring:  From Boyhood to Manhood

The challenges in today's world are greater than ever.  Gangs, drugs, and sexual pressure compound this critical time in a young man's life.  As a result, far too many kids find themselves walking down a path that they might not choose if they had a mentor to walk alongside of them and to help them see the importance of making sound decisions.

CTFI provides mentoring and presentations at local schools in order to help young men make the often difficult transition from boyhood to manhood.  Led by committed, responsible adult males, these programs provide a unique environment where boys learn to express themselves in a constructive manner, receive ongoing encouragement and positve peer support, and get practical information and advice on dealing with the difficult issues and choices that every young man faces at one time or another.

Our school-based programs can also be tailored to work with an audience of teen fathers.  What is unique about teen fathers is that many of them have become dads before they are ready for that awesome responsibility.  In addition, many young dads don't receive support from their male peers to "be there" for their children.  They also may not have had the experience of growing up surrounded by mature men and fathers, and have little knowledge of what good dads do as parents.

So whether you're a parent, teacher, coach, or school administrator, contact us today to find out how CTFI can help you to make a difference in the lives of the young men at your school.

"I am so thankful for [names of CTFI mentors].  I love the things they teach the boys each week.  The other 5th grade teachers tell me that every time the mentors come to the school to meet with the guys, they breathe a sigh of relief.  They are so grateful for the mentors coming to work with the students."
