Who We Are

History of CTFI

In October 2002, a group of community-minded individuals from McLennan and Falls Counties met to discuss the growing problem of father absence in Central Texas. The attendees agreed that a concerted collaborative effort needed to be made that would stimulate a broad-based social movement in Central Texas in order to combat father absence and promote responsible fatherhood. And thus the idea for the Central Texas Fatherhood Initiative (CTFI) was born.

CTFI made its official debut on January 28, 2003 at the Central Texas Fatherhood Initiative Leadership Summit, at which leaders from various sectors of society – faith, city/county government, business, civic, healthcare, community activists, philanthropists, law enforcement, non-profit social service providers, media, and education – had the opportunity to explore ways to increase the number of children in Central Texas who grow up with committed, responsible, and involved fathers.

In addition to forming strategic partnerships with other community institutions in order to increase the amount of resources available to fathers, CTFI remains committed to rebuilding the institution of fatherhood in Central Texas by educating and inspiring all individuals about the important role dads play in the lives of children.

How to Get Pregnant

A woman has a fertile time lasting about two days in the middle of her monthly menstrual cycle. The fertile time begins when the woman ovulates (produces an egg) and ends about two days later. The most likely way to get pregnant is to have sex in this fertile time or up to two days just before it.

But the issue is accurately identifying this fertile time as it varies from woman to woman and also in individuals. It ordinarily takes place about two weeks just before the period, but it could be earlier or later. If you want to get pregnant, there are two ways to time sex to coincide with the fertile time. 1 way is to have sex every day. If you are too tired for this, take your temperature every single morning at the very same time prior to you get out of bed and record it cautiously. While your temperature will differ slightly from day to day, it will rise sharply by about .2 degrees C and stay up at the time of ovulation. That’s the time. Get pleasure from two days of frantic sex. Some girls can also feel the time of ovulation by a modify in the way they feel inside, or by bleeding slightly.

This method is often advocated as a contraceptive-zero cost way of really avoiding getting pregnant, but it is not dependable adequate. There are a number of other factors why your temperature could possibly rise, leading to the impression that 3 days later you are secure. You cannot certainly rely on working with this knowledge as a foolproof strategy of contraception, as it is too difficult to tell precisely when ovulation happens.

Interesting to note that the texture of vaginal mucus also adjustments through the fertile period and several women feel greater libido at this time as nicely. Oh, and if the woman puts a pillow below her hips for the duration of intercourse it increases penetration and hence improves the opportunity of conception!
